Welcome to the journey of telecommuting work options.
This may be your first trip or one of many into the world of Telework and we encourage you to follow the path that works best for you as you travel through TeleworkTools.org.
A few things to remember:
In the section “Why Telecommute?” we talked about the different ways in which people telecommute.
Some telecommute part-time, some full-time. Some people work on their own as independent contractors while others work for organizations as "off-site" employees.
Some people want to establish careers which allow them to work from home full-time for the rest of their lives while others want to use telecommuting as a way to transition from unemployment to work or from one job to another.
For persons taking care of family members at home or individuals with disabilities, a job which minimizes travel may have unique advantages. Everyone wants to contribute and to be valued. Telecommuting often allows persons with unique needs to be productive from home. For older experienced workers, telecommuting may allow them to continue to work but in a more flexible way as personal and professional priorities change.
